What inspired you to get into fitness and become an online personal trainer?
“I first got into fitness when I was 16, and from the beginning, I was driven by a passion for helping people. I think to be a good personal trainer, you have to genuinely care about helping others improve, both physically and mentally. Over the years, my experience led me to become an online personal trainer, where I can reach and support more people on their fitness journeys.”

Can you share your thoughts on ice baths and their benefits for recovery?
“Ice baths have become an integral part of my routine, especially for recovery. After intense training, I’ve found that ice baths help to reduce inflammation in the body and improve recovery time. Not only do they help my joints feel better, but they also boost my performance in the gym. It’s a great way to ensure I’m staying on top of my game.”

How did your view of ice baths change from your first experience?
“I’ll admit, I wasn’t always keen on the cold. In fact, when I first encountered ice baths—mainly in the form of wheelie bins full of water after football matches—I struggled to get into it. But as I started to understand the benefits, especially for recovery and performance, I grew to appreciate them. Now, ice baths are a key part of my routine, and I see how much they help me recover and perform better.”

Why do you recommend using an ice bath first thing in the morning?
“I recommend using an ice bath in the morning because it helps set a positive tone for the day. If you get it done early, it’s out of the way, and you’ll feel energised and ready to take on whatever the day brings. It’s the same with the gym—if you can get it done early, you’re more likely to stick to it and feel great after.”

What advice would you give to someone hesitant about trying ice baths?
“If someone’s hesitant, I’d encourage them to focus on how good they’ll feel after the ice bath, just like when you finish a tough workout. I know no one wants to jump into cold water, but once you experience the benefits—better recovery, less inflammation, and an energy boost—you’ll quickly realise it’s worth it. The more you do it, the easier it becomes.”

How does an ice bath make you feel and impact your day?
“After finishing an ice bath, I feel mentally and physically invigorated. Every time I get out, I can’t help but feel a sense of gratitude for how much better my body feels. It’s like a reset button for my energy levels and mindset, and it sets me up for a productive and positive day ahead. It’s incredible how such a simple practice can have such a big impact.”
