What does a typical training day look like for you?

“Training is part of my daily routine, depending on the match schedule. We usually get a couple of days off each week to recover and reset. Mornings are for pitch work, afternoons for gym, with meals and recovery in between.

Recovery is just as important as the training itself. Whether it’s ice baths, massage, or foam rolling, it’s all about staying fresh and ready for the next session. You probably spend more time recovering than actually training, and that’s what makes the difference.”

How important is recovery in your routine, and what role does cold therapy play?

“Recovery has always been a big part of my football journey. Early on, I didn’t always prioritise it, but over time I realised how important it is for staying at your best.

Ice baths have consistently helped me, whether it’s after a tough session or even first thing in the morning. I don’t think anyone truly enjoys getting in, but the feeling after makes it worth it. It helps me reset, recover, and feel ready for whatever’s next.”

Have you always used ice baths as part of your recovery?

“I’ve used ice baths throughout my career, but there were times I didn’t make them a priority, and I felt the difference. I wasn’t recovering as well, and my body just didn’t feel right.

In a sport where you train every day, you need to feel good every time you step on the pitch. That’s when it clicked. Just 10 minutes in an ice bath makes a huge difference to how I recover, especially with injuries and staying fresh.”

When do you typically use ice baths in your routine?

I mainly use ice baths after training. I like to finish all my sessions, including pitch work and gym, before getting in. It’s the final step in my day and helps me feel like I’ve done everything I can to recover properly.

I try to use it after every session, whether at the club or now at home. It’s one of my favourite recovery methods and something I always make time for.

Do ice baths help you mentally as well as physically?

“Definitely. Ice baths have had a big impact on me mentally. They give me a sense of completing my recovery, like I’ve done everything I can to be ready for the next day.

It’s never easy getting in, but I always come out feeling more alert and energised. It helps reset my mindset. I feel fresher, more positive, and ready to go again, both physically and mentally.”

How has having a Chill Tubs at home helped your recovery?

“It’s made a massive difference. I always try to recover at the training ground, but now if I’m training at home, I can just step outside and get straight into the ice bath.

It’s not just for after exercise. I use it on rest days, in the mornings, or after a tough day when I still want to prioritise recovery.

Having a Chill Tubs Original at home makes it easier to stay consistent. It helps me reset, start the day right, and keep my recovery routine on track.”
