What happens after taking an ice bath every day for 30 days? Rob Carlin, Managing Director at Superior Wellness will be taking part in a 30-day cold plunge benefits study to assess the benefits of using a Chill Tub in his daily routine.

TransformNow are working in partnership with Chill Tubs to assess what happens to your body after using the ice bath every day for 30 days prior to Rob’s daily workout. Imran Khan, founder of TransformNow, launched in 2013, has over 20 years’ experience in the health sector on both a practical and academic level and is supporting this ice bath study. Cold Plunge Study Pre-assessment

Before starting this 30-day cold plunge study, Rob travelled to their Birmingham office to see Dr Imran Khan at Transform Now to undergo different assessments to measure the following body levels, including the following:

  • Inflammation Levels: C-Reactive Protein (CRP), Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) and Interleukin-6 (IL-6)
  • Testosterone Levels: Total Testosterone Test and Free Testosterone Test
  • Additional Markers: Cortisol Levels, Complete Blood Count (CBC), Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) and Creatinine, Liver Function Tests and Lipid Profile
  • Subjective Markers: Energy Levels, Sleep Quality and Mood
  • Bodyfat Percentage
  • Expiration Lung Volume Test
  • Advanced Epigenetic Test
  • Blood Pressure Test
  • ECG

Cold Plunge Study Questions

Before Rob started this cold plunge benefits study, TransformNow spoke to him and asked him a few questions to learn what his expectations were from the experiment:

What do you want to achieve over the 30 days?

I want to see how daily ice baths change my body and health. I’m going to track this with blood tests and by checking my body fat. This will help me understand if ice baths can make me healthier, and I’ll share my findings with others interested in trying it too.

What are your expectations over the 30 days?

At first, I think the ice baths will be tough and uncomfortable, but I hope that my body will get used to them over time. I’m expecting to see improvements in my health markers, like lower inflammation and increased testosterone levels. I also hope that I’ll feel better overall with more energy, better mood and better sleep.

How will you incorporate the Chill Tub into your daily routine?

I plan to take ice baths daily. It’ll be a key part of my daily routine for becoming healthier and stronger.

After the 30 days, Rob will have the same assessments done by Dr Imran Khan again, to see whether the Chill Tubs has had an impact on his body levels.
