Once inflated, it’s rigid, durable fiberglass-reinforced PVC walls provide the perfect environment for your cold plunge experience.
The thermal lid also allows the temperature to maintain at as low as three degrees, and both the pod and the lid are insulated, keeping the outside weather from affecting the tub. To empty your Chill Tubs Essential, simply unscrew the ‘Water Out’ drain plug. Take care with the drain tap, don’t force it and make sure turn it to the closed position after use and clean it regularly.
The amount of time you can spend in the Chill Tubs Essential without suffering from hypothermia is determined by the water temperature, your body size and shape, your level of cold adaptation and your experience, among other factors.
Check with your doctor as relevant. Start with safe, short dips of 30 seconds to learn what your limits are. If you begin to feel uncomfortable or you start to shiver, listen to your body, get out and slowly warm up by walking around. If you like, you can check the water temperature before entering the Chill Tub to ensure that it is at temperature that is suitable for your experience in cold exposure.
You don’t need to add a sanitiser to the water. If you would like the water to last longer you can use the Chill Tabs Sanitiser to extend the usable time up to 1 month.
We recommend changing the water once per week without any additives. Make sure you keep the lid on when not in use. To extend the life of your Chill Tubs Essential we recommend washing the inside surfaces with warm soapy water.
Yes, both the Chill Tubs Essential Pod and Chill Tubs Essential Bath come with a inflatable Thermo Lid.
It is really easy to fill. Simply use a hose pipe and fill with cold water until the water is roughly 15cm (6 inches) below the underside of the top ring (not more than two thirds full). To reduce the temperature further we recommend adding ice or ice packs. The Chill Tubs Essential Pod is insulated and will maintain the water temperature for longer than you expect.
